LOOKING FORWARD is a non-profit arts organisation and curatorial platform working internationally from the UK. Our aim is to support artists, curators, art writers and other practitioners at a pivotal stage in their career through exhibitions, publications, participation projects, live events and a dynamic mentoring programme.
LOOKING FORWARD is curatorially ambitious. We champion emerging and under-represented practitioners and thinkers, providing space for projects and ideas that do not fit the market of commercial galleries nor the agenda of larger institutions. In particular, we want to explore topics of social justice, human rights, and identity, challenging neoliberal ideology and social hierarchies.
LOOKING FORWARD works between diverse geopolitical zones establishing new meaningful networks committed to equality, dialogue and broad access. Our vision is to facilitate an international web of alliances for knowledge production and sharing, but also hospitality and conviviality.
LOOKING FORWARD is open to everyone. We are receptive to a diverse range of audiences, through community engagement, educational projects, an online archive, and a public programme of talks, performances, screenings, dinners and other events.
Statement at Times of COVID-19
LOOKING FORWARD is a non-profit arts organisation and curatorial platform working internationally from the UK. Our aim is to provide artists, curators, art writers and other practitioners a platform where minds gather and support each other through ideas, mentorship, sharing of resources and other forms of mutual support.
LOOKING FORWARD champions closeness of intentions and intellectual intimacy between practitioners and thinkers, at times when social distancing is our duty. It also provides a digital alternative to a frozen art market and the crisis in the agenda of art institutions, offering insights on a rapidly changing world facing unprecedented challenges in healthcare and human rights, and urgently needing to review its neoliberal ideology and social hierarchies.
LOOKING FORWARD works across geopolitical zones and bridges distances by facilitating new meaningful networks committed to equality, dialogue and broad access. Open to everyone, our organisation welcomes ideas for new approaches, such as educational online projects, web-based conversations and reading groups, re-visiting and re-activating archives, and more.
