We visited Marco Bizzarri for an informal chat in his flat in Camden.
Marco recently moved to the UK from Chile and has just ended a studio residency period at Unit 1 Gallery. Marco's final residency project named, Unearthed, addresses a series of themes that are linked to the experience of personal and community loss inspired by the demonstrations of mourning for the Grenfell Tower Memorial.
His work generally explores conflicts that result from unsustainable and insistent exploitation of nature, ecocide and human displacement, exposing the collateral damage and the ultimate risks to our existence.
Marco is also co-founder of Centro ARC, an independent research project based in Chile.
