V.O Curations - Peter Mammes Studio Visit

Peter Mammes (1986) was born in Krugersdorp, South Africa, into an Afrikaans-speaking community. He studied at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg, before moving to Varanasi, Russia, Cairo, and London, where he currently lives and works.

Peter's main interest is to challenge narratives of power. His work is informed by research into historical and contemporary politics, that he mixes with patterns and subjects taken from contrasting cultures and imaginaries. The result is a critical outlook towards authority, propaganda and military history.
