Looking Forward is now offering a two-part consultancy programme designed to support artists and curators in navigating the UK and international funding landscape.
Led by Carolina Lio, curator and director of Looking Forward, this programme includes two one-hour sessions held via Zoom:
Session 1 focuses on understanding your current position—your practice, needs, and the project(s) you are developing. We’ll discuss your goals, potential funders, and where your work sits within the broader context of UK arts funding.
Session 2 offers a follow-up opportunity to review draft applications or steps taken since the first meeting. This session provides detailed feedback and practical recommendations for strengthening your proposal and aligning it with specific funding priorities.
Participants will also receive a written summary after each session, outlining the key points discussed and suggestions shared—so you can move forward with clarity and structure. In a small number of cases, we may offer free extended follow-up support and mentorship for projects that align closely with our curatorial interests, leading to potential longer-term collaborations.
Sessions are available to book online.
What's the cost?
The total cost for the two sessions is £50. This is a subsidised rate, as Looking Forward operates as a non-profit. If the cost is still prohibitive for you, you’re welcome to email us at hello@lookingforward.online with a short explanation. We are committed to accessibility and happy to discuss alternative arrangements where needed.
Can I do the sessions in person instead of on Zoom?
Yes, in-person sessions may be possible, depending on availability. Looking Forward is based in London, and we can accommodate in-person meetings within central London or at our base in the Design District (Greenwich). If you would prefer to meet in person, please email us at hello@lookingforward.online before booking, and we’ll do our best to find a suitable arrangement. Please note that in-person sessions carry a surcharge of £15 per meeting.
Can I share a session with a collaborator or team member?
Yes, if you’re working collaboratively on a project, your collaborator is welcome to join the session. Just let us know in advance so we can tailor the discussion accordingly.
What types of projects are eligible for this kind of support?
The sessions are most useful for projects in the visual arts, socially engaged practices, and curatorial initiatives. However, if you’re unsure whether your project fits, feel free to email us with a brief outline before booking.
Is there any opportunity for ongoing support or mentorship?
In a limited number of cases, we are able to offer continued follow-up support and informal mentorship beyond the two sessions. This is typically extended to projects that align closely with Looking Forward’s curatorial interests and values, and may lead to a more sustained partnership. These opportunities are limited and offered at our discretion, based on the potential for long-term collaboration. If you feel your project might be a good fit, we’re happy to discuss this further during your sessions.
